Part of the track is well developed, asphalted or salted, the last 20
kilometers are gravelled and very narrow: SUV, 4X4, jeep, or pickup.
Also pretty lonely.
Worth seeing: viewpoints, fauna, flora, mountain scenery, Andes, desert,
mining history.
No restaurants or overnight stay possible (only Copiapo, Tierra Amarilla
and Vallenar)
