The dump material in the Tres Puntas sector have impressive dimensions. In large parts of the area they had such high silver grades that companies or particular miners recovered a fair amount of metals in the 1930s and 1980s.
Between 1852 and 1857, there was mention of 62 mines at work. In 1878 Tres Puntas and Chimberos has 1118 inhabitants and mining is in decline. 1922, the mines of Tres Puntas are completely closed.
In the central sector of Tres Puntas, in "Quebrada Tres Puntas" you can find the highest quality constructions. Remains of walls well elaborated.
